The practice of cardiology is full of controversies. In fact, sometimes, that is what makes it fun! Our symposium will be no exception. Chaired by Milton Packer, this symposium will assure the highest level of interaction between faculty and audience, as well as providing an opportunity to hear expert opinions on important clinical issues.
Eric Topol will set the stage for current challenges and controversies in clinical cardiology, while the next two speakers, Vallerie McLaughlin and Michael McGoon, will review some of the specific clinical controversies that relate to the differences in diagnosis and management of left sided and right sided heart disease. We will conclude with relevant political observation on health care reform from the President of ACC, Douglas Weaver.
