Welcome to the PAH QuERI Quarterly Update Resource Center
About MD Primer Inc:
MD Primer Inc. (MDP) was created by physicians for physicians with a mission to provide our colleagues with timely and practical access to key information, knowledge and clinical tools for optimal patient management.
MDP is a fully integrated academic research organization with a primary focus on conducting evidence-based research and promoting guideline-mandated approaches to patient management. MDP is actively involved in the design and execution of Phase IIB, III and IV clinical trials as well as outcomes-based patient registries.
MDP has a significant interest in the area of Pulmonary Hypertension and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) in particular.
About Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) QuERI:
The PAH QuERI is a large, multi-disciplinary research initiative that was launched in the US in 2005. 61 community and academic centers participated in the QuERI program enrolling 787 patients with PAH. These patients have been followed for three years.
The PAH QuERI was designed based on best practice guidelines and evidence with the purpose of improving the current management of patients with PAH and impacting outcomes. The primary focus of this initiative was to encourage excellence in the long-term care of patients with PAH.
About Quarterly Updates:
We developed the Quarterly Updates as a useful tool for clinicians with an interest in the management of patients with cardio-pulmonary disease with a special focus on PAH.
The Quarterly Updates consist of succinct and relevant information on new developments and publications in the area of pulmonary hypertension as well as available data from the PAH QuERI.
One of the key observations from the PAH QuERI is the treatment gap and the underutilization of PAH specific therapies, especially in the highest-risk patients. This data supports similar observations from national and international PAH Registries and further solidifies the need for quality improvement initiatives.
